cartridge-world-kargoorlie-printer-giveawayTaken from Kalgoorlie Miner, WA on 2nd May 2012

A LOCAL store has given away a free printer as part of an Australia wide competition.

Cartridge World Kalgoorlie provided one of the 200 printers given away across the country. Store manager Justin Thomas said the Kalgoorlie-Boulder store received more than 100 entries.

"It ran from the start of March until April 15 and winners were drawn on the 20th." he said "It was free to enter and the lucky person who won it, Leah Hannam, said her printer was on the verge of dying so it was the right time for her.

"The promotion was on Channel Nine, and Youtube and also promoted heavily on Facebook."Mr Thomas said one of the best ways to get in contact with the team at Cartridge World was to "like" the Kalgoorlie store on Facebook. He said anyone could jump on the page and ask questions.

"We try and focus on providing friendly personal local service, we really try and keep it local," he said. "We are hoping to get more 'likes' so we can let people know about Cartridge World's new services More

Refill to re-use

Taken from News Review Messenger Adelaide 18th January 2012

RE-CHARGING your printer cartridges can save you a considerable amount of money, say the owners of Cartridge World at Salisbury and Elizabeth.

Phil and Trina Robinson say they were drawn to Cartridge World because they liked the idea of benefiting the environment by reducing waste going into landfill.

At the same time, they also wanted business and home users to save money by recharging their empty printer cartridges.

They recharge cartridges with high-quality English and American made inks and toners using world best techniques. The cartridges are tested and have a three-month money back guarantee.

Cartridge World Salisbury has been re-charging cartridges for business and home users since 1998 and in 2005 the couple opened a store at Elizabeth.

Phil says he has recently sharpened his pencil on all products and services and is very competitively priced on genuine cartridges, printers, paper, fax machines as well as their high-quality re-charged cartridges.

They also offer a free test and inspection on your printer (valued at $20) if it's not working properly.

2012 visions

This week The Guardian went to some of the region's most prominent locals to get an insight into their visions for 2012. Here's what they had to say...

Taken from Swan Hill Guardian 6th January 2012

Peter Beardsley
Proprietor Beardsley's Swan Hill Newsagency, Tatts, OfficeSmart and Cartridge World

How long have you lived in the region for:
Nine years

What do you consider to be the best thing about living in the region:
Excellent weather, great services, Five minute travel time to work and the good people of the region.

What do you think the region's best asset is:
Primary production across many facets and The Murray River.

What do you consider to be the biggest issue of importance within the region:
Ensuring the viability of existing local retail business's are not haemorrhaged by councils apparent determination to create a geographically removed B1 Zone that will in effect split the retail community.

What do you think the biggest challenge facing the region will be in 2012:
Building on and supporting primary production and securing an enhanced retail environment within the acknowledged and existing retail boundaries.

What improvements or changes would you like to see take place this year:
We need real-I mean real progress on the Riverfront Precinct grander plan.

For the nine years I have been here I have seen little or no forward progress lots of meetings, lots of plans, and lots of papers but no action and no real outcomes.

If you had a wish list, what would be the top three projects or issues you would like to be addressed this year:
That council stick by their original undertaking in the 2005 Business Review and continue to commit to a compact and consolidated CBD precinct.

This does not exclude more big business coming to town, on the contrary but we need to keep the precinct compact. The population of the region is far too small to create a divided zone. I would also like to see council, local and federal governments all get off their little bottoms and actually do something about developing the River precinct and that we don't build a draw bridge-a concept invented over 100 years ago, and we move into the future and build a high, long span real bridge.

Personally, what is your New Year's resolution:
Eat a little less and exercise a little more. More

Angel Heart cycle tour well on its way

VICTOR HARBOR - The organisation and planning of Cody's Angel Heart Foundation's Tour of Hope cycling challenge in May 2012 is progressing well, with the route now finalised.
Riders involved will make the journey from Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital to the Victor Harbor Yacht Club in the eight day trip, as the major fundraiser for the foundation.

Cody's Angel Heart Foundation was founded by Shane and Emily Porteous last year, in memory of their son Cody, Who died aged two in 2010 after suffering from a congenital heart defect.

Their aim is to offer financial funeral assistance to parents of children who suffered from a congenital heart defect.

"When Cody died we felt like we wanted to do something to keep his name alive, and we felt a need to assist families Who have gone through similar situations to us," Emily said.

The ride will see Shane and fellow cyclists travel from Melbourne to Lorne, along the Great Ocean Road then via Port Campbell, Portland, Mount Gambier, Robe, Salt Creek and Strathalbyn to Victor Harbor.

Shane said while he wishes to complete the 1025 kilometre trip in the best time possible, it is important for participants to enjoy the journey.

With training for the Tour of Hope starting in a few weeks, Shane is looking for cyclists and people from the community interested in participating.

There are 12 places available for riders and a support crew is needed.

The Tour of Hope is also in need of its major naming rights sponsor, and smaller financial and product sponsorship.

To find out more about joining or sponsoring the Tour of Hope please email Shane at info@codysangelheartfoundation.org.au or phone 0409 284 792.

Cody's Angel Heart Foundation has raised close to $10,000 through donations, raffles, the sale of the Tour of Hope team jersey and the 2012 calendar, Which are still on sale online or at Cartridge World Victor Harbor. More

World of ink cartridges

Taken from Centralian Advocate, Alice Springs NT on Friday 25th November 2011

If you are planning to use your printer for Christmas letters, cards, invitations for a party, pictures for decoration or photos, have you thought about how much ink is in your printer?

Don't run out just when you need it. It will pay to make a visit to Cartridge World to stock up at this busy time. It has all the major brands catered for including, Canon, HP, Lexmark, Brother and Samsung at competitive prices.

Cartridge World also has its own range of generic cartridges available for your printer. Other newer printer models are also in store or can be sourced in just a few days.

Cartridge World reminds customers that it is especially important during the warmer months to store ink cartridges below 30 degrees. Its advice is to always have one in the printer and one in the fridge.

Refill, not landfill is an important part of what Cartridge World does. It has a box to put all your old cartridges in so they can be re-used and not just become rubbish. If they can't be re-used, the cartridges are sent to Planet Ark for recycling. More

Cody's Angel Heart Foundation off to great start

Cartridge-World-Victor-HarborVICTOR HARBOR - Cody's Angel Heart Foundation may have been launched little over a month ago, yet already one family has benefited from Cody Porteous' legacy.

Cody's Angel Heart Foundation was set up in memory of two-year-old Cody, Who died just before Christmas last year, after fighting Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome since birth. His parents Shane and Emily founded the organisation and said so far with much support from the community, Cody's Angel Heart Foundation has funded a funeral for a "Little Heart Angel", a child who died due to a congenital heart defect (CHD).

When launching Cody's Angel Heart Foundation in mid September, Shane and Emily spoke of their realisation of the lack of financial support available to families to help fund their child's funeral. Their vision was to help families fund a beautiful farewell for their child.

Along with financing a funeral, $3000 has also been raised through Cody's Angel Heart Foundation. The couple said they are extremely thankful for the support from many local businesses since the launch of the foundation. "In these tough economical times, it is great having businesses recognise what a great charity Cody's Angel Heart Foundation is, and that their contributions will be greatly cherished by those families that lose a loved one to congenital heart defects," Shane said.

Victor Harbor Cycles and Avanti have supplied Shane with a brand new Giro 4 Endurance Road Bike for his fundraising ride from Melbourne to Adelaide in May next year. Other supporters include Cartridge World, Nino's Cafe, Strathalbyn Chiropractic Centre, Garmin Australia, Rock Salte Designs, Avondale Deli, Nail Technix, Victor Harbor Chiropractic Centre, The Big Duck Boat Tours, Mr Menswear and All Sweets `11' Treats. This weekend will also see Shane, Emily and Cody's Angel Heart Foundation supporters putting in a team for the Amy Gillett Foundation's Amy's Ride.

"Once again its great having people come together for a great cause," Shane said. "We will be distinctively recognisable by our team jerseys which have a heart polka dot pattern, mimicking the King of the Mountain jerseys worn in cycles races. "We have people that haven't ridden a bike in 15 years heading out and riding 25 kilometres along the Southern Expressway to be involved.

"Other members of our team are coming over from Melbourne just to ride with us in the 65 kilometre and 100 kilometre rides, all which end in McLaren Vale."

If you would like to support Cody's Angel Heart Foundation, visit www.codysangelheartfoundation.org.au and click donate, to safely give financial assistance through PayPal, or pop into your local NAB branch to make a deposit. More
